Anti-static dirt cup (MC-UL675 / MC-UL975)
The anti-static dirt cup helps to keep pet hair from sticking to the cup. Swirling pet hair creates static cling that can cause the hairs to stick to the inside of the plastic cup, but a special anti-static plastic reduces cling, allowing pet hair to be emptied easily.

By-Pass Valve Safety Feature (All Upright Vacuums)
Located on the back of the vacuum, this By-Pass Valve is designed to prevent damage to the motor from overheating, if the unit gets clogged during operation. The valve will automatically open up to allow constant, cooling airflow to the motor, so it won’t overheat. When the obstruction is removed, the valve closes back to its normal operating position.

Carpet/Bare Floor Selector (MC-V9644/MC-V9658/MC-CG467/MC-UL675/MC-UL975)
The convenient foot pedal of the Carpet/Bare Floor Selector easily switches to adjust the agitator to accommodate both carpeted and uncarpeted areas. The agitator grooms carpet fibers and helps release dirt particles for easy removal. Switch to Bare Floor for scuff-free vacuuming of hard surface flooring and wax finishes. There’s no need to change attachments or make any manual adjustments!
