Matsushita Company of Osaka, Japan has been producing Panasonic and Kenmore branded vacuum cleaners since 1990 in the former Whirlpool plant in Kentucky and in Mexico.
However Sears now made an agreement with TTI, a Hong Kong based company who owns Dirt Devil and Hoover brands and consequently Kenmore branded vacuums are now imported from China beginning early 2008.
